Samsung has rolled out a software update for the newly introduced Galaxy Note 9 smartphone as it gears up to launch the Galaxy Note 9 in India on August 22. Meanwhile, the new software adds more firepower to the Slow Motion camera mode of the Galaxy Note 9. The update brings in a new feature that will help users to capture 0.2 second or 0.4 second moments while they are recording slow motion videos in manual mode at frame rates of of up to 960fps.

Along with the new camera feature, the update also includes the latest August 2018 security patch update for both Android and Samsung’s Touchwiz interface. In a first, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has Dex software features integrated and users can connect smartphone to any monitor independently by using USB Type-C or HDMI dongle. When it’s connected you can give a presentation (or showcase videos, etc) on the monitor while playing or talking to someone on the Galaxy Note 9.

Also, Samsung for the first time incorporated a major hardware addition in the S-Pen. The new Galaxy Note 9’s S-Pen now supports low-power Bluetooth making it way more useful than ever. Samsung claims that the Note 9 will alert users about the battery life of the S-Pen and it takes just 40-seconds to get fully-charged. Uses will just have to insert the S-Pen in the Note 9 to charge it.

As far as the launch in India is concerned, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will start at a price of Rs 67,900. The handset is listed on the official Samsung website at Rs 67,900 for the 6GB RAM+128GB and Rs 84,900 for the 8GB RAM+512GB storage version. Both smartphones are listed in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Metallic Copper colour variants.
